In this day and age of proliferating black box technology in the boating world, many marine product manufacturers have decided to design and engineer their own marine grade monitor. Monitors are not this group's main product focus. Their efforts in the field of monitor design and manufacturing have been met with mixed results.

 

Research:

AmbientNAV is an engineering company. We own the technology, tools, and test equipment. We can develop an idea, design it in the computer, test it for heat and flows, model it and all the components, run fatigue tests and interference tests, and generate final design documents for the physical build.

Analysis and Testing:

We can model a product, run heat tests like what will it do down in Miami on August 12th at 2pm in the afternoon. We can show where the heat goes, how it interacts with the components, and which ones are likely to fail. We can model the entire design and check for interference fits. This allows for clean builds and engineering enhancements before anything physical is produced.

Customize:

Since we include micro computers in each monitor, we can add enhancements either to the control buttons on front or remote simply by changing the code.



Development:

We listen to our customers. We have a core philosophy of enhancing products based upon customer feedback. We do not simply make a product and sit on it. Year after year our products improve as a result of ideas you have brought to us. We build great product, but its usability is a direct result of the feedback from you.

Support:

We understand that our equipment is vital to the safe operation of your vessel. We endeavor to design and build great product from the beginning. However, if there is a problem, we will stand behind our product and make it right. We do not like down time and you should not have to wait.

Cooling:

Our Thermal Conveyor Pan isolates the electronics from the environment and allows us to transfer all the heat built up inside to the back where it can be cooled with common air. While others blow moist dirty air on the electronics, we don't. Where others attempt to cool their electronic chips, we cool the entire chassis, all the chips, and the LCD glass. Utilizing over 3lbs of copper to move the heat generated throughout the monitor to a back subpan that can be cooled using outside air.
